NEW EDITOR WANTED
Leonie has been editing WOTH for 5 years now and the time has come for her to hand over the reins to someone else, at her request I hasten to add! She's done a great job and I'm sure we are all grateful for her commitment and help in "getting the word out" in that time. She's kindly agreed to stay on for a few months to manage a handover.
WOTH has been going in its present online form for over 13 years now and has grown from a circulation of around 80 to 380 now. Whilst I'm prepared to continue to help in the background, if someone wanted to take over the whole kit and caboodle, I'm very much open to offers.
WOTH is produced on Mailchimp, which is very user friendly and doesn't take too much time to essentially copy and paste in submissions from groups and organisations in the village. It's a vital part of communication within the village and I think is pretty well appreciated, despite Facebook etc being an alternative (and in my view complementary) medium. I'm well aware though that WOTH could be ready for a makeover and could be managed more effectively by someone who has more experience of Mailchimp (or similar platform) than me. I personally think this should be kept independent of the Parish Council, but that's potentially an alternative route if all else fails.
So we need at least an editor to take Leonie's place- with me in the background and very happy to help in the transition, or someone who can take over the whole thing from me and do it better.
Any volunteers? Please!
Thanks for giving this some thought,
Tim Nicol
