News from Easton on the Hill Parish Council

Granted!

We are pleased to say that we have been given a North Northamptonshire Powering Change energy grant of £6524 to convert the remaining streetlights to LED.  This will be completed in Jan/Feb next year. These lights will use 50% less electricity than the old 36w lanterns, like all the others, and therefore be cheaper to run, cheaper to maintain and better for the environment via a reduced carbon footprint.

New defibrillators

The council agreed to replace the two defibs in the village - one at the shop and one at the village hall, both owned by the Parish Council.  This is because they are very nearly obsolete and replacement batteries and pads needed every so often are hard to get hold of and they are past their sell by date.  We got a deal on a discounted model and the possibility of a Ward Councillor grant to put towards them too. There will be a decision made in the new year about a third defib at the playing field.

Budget and your local tax payment

The council were presented with a draft budget at their last meeting - you can see this on the council website. They agreed all the proposals and will review and agree it finally at the January meeting. This budget produces your local tax, which at present looks to be increasing by under 2%, less than £2 pa for a band D property.  If you have any comments on this, please do let me know - details below.

Donation to village clock automation project

The Parish Councillors agreed to donate £200 to this automation project now, and a further £300 to the project in April 2026.  It was felt to be a worthy cause that will continue to benefit the whole community, hopefully for years to come.

Resident survey

This survey will now be produced in early January and sent out to all residents and available online too.  Please look out for it and complete it with your ideas, feedback, concerns etc for informing the council's expenditure on new projects for the village.

The next meeting is on 12/1/26 at 7pm in the village hall - all welcome.
