News from Easton on the Hill Parish Council

New defibrillators and training session
The Parish Council were lucky to receive a grant from the Ward Councillor (Simon Fairhall) fund towards two new defibrillators to replace the ones in the village that are being discontinued and parts are soon not available for them.  One of the old devices has been sited at the playing field for now, as it is still serviceable for a while, until a new one is hopefully provided from the Ketton Sports Football Club.  I am trying to arrange some refresher emergency first aid training, including use of defibrillator, and more details will be confirmed asap - watch this space.  If you are interested in attending training, please do email me, address below.

Reporting of local issues, eg potholes, footpaths, dangerous trees.
Just a reminder that such issues are best reported directly to the North Northamptonshire Council website www.fixmystreet.com with photos if possible.  Residents have kindly done this recently with success and feedback direct from NNC on progress and timescales.

Nuisance noise eg dog barking should be reported to the Unitary Council also, as the Parish Council does not have powers to deal with this.  Their advice is below;

What to Do About Barking Dogs in North Northants:

Talk to Your Neighbour First (If Possible):Often, owners don't realize the extent of the problem, so a friendly chat might resolve it.

Contact North Northamptonshire Council: If talking doesn't work, report it as a NNC's Environmental Health team, as they have powers to act on persistent noise. Report a noise nuisance to your council - GOV.UK
Keep a Noise Diary: Document dates, times, and duration of barking to provide evidence to the council.
Contact the RSPCA: If you believe the dog is suffering (e.g., due to loneliness or lack of exercise) or if you witness neglect, contact the RSPCA for welfare concerns.

Resident survey
The Parish Council is conducting a survey to find out what your priorities are, what your concerns are and to get feedback on residents' ideas and thoughts about the services and facilities provided by the Parish Council. Hard copies will be posted and available to pick up from the Post Office and cafe.  Please do complete the survey for the Parish Council to get the most representative views.

The next meeting is on Monday 9th February 2026, 7pm in the village hall.  All welcome.  Agendas and minutes are available on the website www.eastononthehill-pc.gov.uk.
