Report from the Playing Field Improvement Committee

27 Oct 2021 18:26

Well, another month goes by and there is still plenty going on.  Macca Sports are hosting another of their Sports Academies for half-term, and Wittering Premiair continue to make good use of the field.
As mentioned last month, the order for new equipment for the play-park has been placed so there’ll be 5 new items in the New Year.  These will complement what’s already there, and being used.
Sadly, our latest grant application has been unsuccessful: this was for a Bike or Pump Track (click here for details!  Pump Tracks ) so we are now considering what our next move is.

As you will have seen, we’ve sent out a more detailed note to all households, up-dating on progress, and this has already produced more donations – thanks to those who have taken the trouble to do so.
The Pump Track would have cost in the order of £45,000 so we would have had to raise around £4,500 ourselves.  And the MUGA, our ultimate purchase, would be considerably more than this, so it’s vital that we keep fundraising and looking out for more grant support.

With the balance of the last grant we obtained we are going to start work on the Woodland Area (Thorney Corner to some…..) – and we’ll be putting out a request for help over the weekend of 20th and 21st
November.  Find us on social media!
