CURATE ON THE HILL, March 25th, 2021

Thursday, 25 March 2021

As I sit and write this, the sun is shining, and the birds are singing and we seem to be coming ever closer to the lifting of restrictions which will allow us to come back together and share in the beauty all around us once again. We are lucky enough, at the Rectory, to have a new addition to our family. Jesse the black Labrador has joined us and will soon be allowed out for little walks. Please feel free to stop us when we do to say hello.

The Church is open everyday and services have restarted. We have morning prayer every Friday at 9am and on Sunday 28th March we have a 9 am Holy Communion from the book of common prayer. The following week we have passion week which runs up to Easter. On Thursday evening at 7pm we have a Maundy Thursday online service. On Good Friday at 2pm there is a service called ‘The stations of the cross’ in which we all take a spiritual journey which follows the last journey that Jesus took towards his crucifixion.

Sunday 4th April is Easter Sunday and the biggest celebration of the church year. We celebrate the resurrection and we have a service at 10:30 which will include communion by extension. All are welcome to any service but I would love to see as many people as possible on Easter Sunday regardless of your church experience. All our services are published in the church, around the village as well as on the church Facebook page and Website.

This year I see a parallel between the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection and the social life of the village. It has died but shall rise again in glory. So whatever you choose to do to celebrate the resurrection I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter
